Denise's Story.

When Denise set out on a journey to reconnect with her personal wellbeing while seeking ways to support others, she uncovered the transformative power of embracing healthy habits through the Habits for Health® Programme.


Despite facing significant personal challenges, Denise found Habits for Health® to be a lifeline, a supportive and encouraging system that helped her rebuild balance and focus on what truly matters. Initially, there were concerns about whether she could prioritise herself given her demanding life circumstances. However, as Denise engaged with the programme, she soon realised it was “an extremely helpful and a beneficial support mechanism at a difficult time.”

It makes you think about what's important and what's not. It makes you appreciate what you've got and what you haven't. I've found each step really useful. It's alright to engage in it, but you've got to embrace it.

Overcoming Challenges.

In reflecting on her experience, Denise spoke with our Lead Wellbeing Coach, Grant Payne, to share her thoughts and successes. She explained how Habits for Health® helped her ask deeper, meaningful questions about her life and overall wellbeing.

When Grant asked about her most valuable takeaway from the programme, Denise responded:

"I don't think I can pinpoint one specific thing. Certainly, the nutrition side, the reflective thinking, happiness - what happiness means to you.  It makes you think about what's important and what's not. It makes you appreciate what you've got and what you haven't. I've found each step really useful. It's alright to engage in it, but you've got to embrace it."

A Practical Approach to embracing healthy habits.

One of the key strengths of the Habits for Health® Programme for Denise was its practical approach. She found the concept of the “1% progress experiments” particularly impactful, as they offered small, manageable actions aimed at encouraging sustainable changes.

Small Steps, Big Changes


At the end of each of the 12 modules, users are encouraged to try a 1% habit upgrade experiment. Here’s how they work:

  • Each experiment focuses on small, realistic actions that you can build into your daily routine.
  • There’s no pressure to “get it right,” whether the habit sticks or not, every step provides valuable insights.
  • It's an opportunity to learn more about yourself and explore what works best for your wellbeing.

I really enjoyed the 1% progress experiments and how you can adapt this into everyday life. You can create your own little three experiments, put them together, adapt them to yourself, and it does work!

For Denise, success wasn’t just about showing up for the programme, it was about fully embracing healthy habits and making them a part of her daily life. By using the programme’s practical tools and taking time to reflect, she was able to balance her physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.

Her story is a wonderful reminder that even small, consistent changes can have a big impact. Denise’s journey shows us that embracing healthy habits is less about striving for perfection and more about showing up for yourself, one small action at a time. It’s a path to a healthier, happier, and more fulfilling life, one that anyone can take.
