Sam's Story.

Sam, an Assistant Business Support Manager, shares her inspiring story of how she went from feeling lost and overwhelmed to creating positive habits for life that impacted her wellbeing, both at work and within her family.


Sam speaks openly about her journey through the Habits for Health programme® with our Lead Wellbeing Coach, Grant Payne, and explains how it changed her mindset, giving her the strength and armour to make a positive change.

“I hadn’t really thought about “wellbeing” before, it meant being happy right? I knew something wasn’t quite right with me, but couldn’t articulate it."

Creating Positive Habits For Life.

Before enrolling in the Habits for Health® programme Sam admits she hadn't given much thought to her own wellbeing. "I knew something wasn't right," she says, "but I couldn't put my finger on it. Alcohol was becoming a problem, I wasn’t eating well, and while sewing provided a small outlet, I wasn’t really connecting any of it to my overall wellbeing. So when I heard about the Habits for Health programme, I was curious."

The programme proved to be a turning point. "It came at the perfect time, even though I didn’t realise I needed it" Sam recalls. "I was surprised at how much of an impact little changes could do. The programme explained the science behind it and this really resonated with me. The videos were great, and packed in so much information in a clear way. The programme helped me to understand what was happening to my body, and with that I started to understand what wellbeing really was.”

Mindset Shift And Morning Walks.

Since completing the programme, Sam has experienced remarkable changes. "The biggest shift has been my morning walks," she shares. "Starting with a short stroll, I now walk 4.5 miles daily. I found getting up and going straight out for a walk set me up for the day. It really is medicine for me. It is healing me when I didn’t realise how broken I was. Sam found that creating positive habits for life starts with small, consistent steps, "the walk has become more than just a walk. Yes, there are physical benefits, I am stronger and fitter, but it clears my head – all the destructive, negative thoughts are stamped out in the first mile and replaced with things I want to achieve for the day."
